Another glorious day at Wenvoe. With no rain for many weeks, the fairways were scorched brown. There were many cracks in the ground because it was so dry. some of the cracks were big enough to lose a ball! Having said that, the greens were in magnificent condition and were soft enouogh to hold the ball, the groundstaff must have worked hard in this difficult weather to maintain the course in such a beautiful condition. At least the dry ground meant that there was plenty of run on the ball and that seemed to show in the scores, especially for Don Woosnam off a handicap of 5 to come in with 40 points:

A two today for Adrian Gregory

Julian Wlliams also had a two as did Kenny Morris who had left early.

Nearest the pin on the 9th was Julian Williams. There was also a nearest the pin in 2 on the 18th which was won by Gareth Evans

The results for the day were:

1st: Don Woosnam - 40pts
2nd: Neil Lancett - 37pts
3rd: Paul Gregory - 37pts

Best Guest - Dudley Hendricks - 32pts

First place Don Woosnam had to leave early so Lyn Jones collected his prize

In Second Place was Neil Lancett, at first we thought you would be dropped 2 but luckily it will just be the one Neil.

In Third Place was Paul Gregory who will also be dropped one shot
